Gil is needed for purchasing gear, weapons, mounts and housing in Final Fantasy XIV, making its various earning methods somewhat daunting for newcomers. However, these dozens of ways can prove invaluable once mastered.
Effective strategies will maximize a player’s earnings potential when crafting, gathering and levelling combat – this FFXIV Gil guide reveals some of the most efficient means of acquiring this key in-game currency.
1. Crafting
Crafting classes are capable of earning upwards of 5-25 million gil each week through crafting, which is one of the more reliable means of earning currency in this game, but be warned it can be difficult to get going at first.
Treasure map parties offer an easy and effective way for newer players to start making quick money quickly.
Every piece of gear has a repair level that corresponds with its crafting class (weavers for fabric-y gear, armorers for metal armor and blacksmiths for weapons). Mend gear using these materials to earn Gil, but be wary – they might not always work.
